Our walk in Angle started on a good note, the local café had agreed to open early to accommodate our need for a coffee and other sustenance before setting off on our walk. 

Walking out from the car park we headed for the Northern coastline passing Thorn Island that stands about 500m off the coastline of West Angle Bay. Once a private house, then a hotel, the building is now unoccupied. We stayed on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path past the 16^th century Old Point House where we were joined by two members of the Pembrokeshire Ramblers Group. We continued following the Coast Path, stopping for a look at the Tower House where Robert enlightened of its history.

The whole group continued to The Lodge where we split up. Those doing the shorter walk went back through the village, making a detour to visit the Tower House which was open and a very informative information board had been provided by CADW. Lunch was taken in a children’s playground where a series of tree stumps provided ideal seating.

Arriving back in the car park, it was difficult to resist the temptation to go straight to the café, however resist we did and continued walking around the coast to Rat Island and the East Blockhouse. A coldish breeze swayed the vote to return back to the café.

A really great day out, views of the Pembrokeshire coastline were spectacular as always, the weather was better than expected and the refreshments in the café made the long journey to get to Angle well worth it.
