A small group braved the rain forecast to drive to Brecon for this 10 mile hilly walk - and it was well worth the distance! Yes, we did have rain and mud, but not as bad as some feared, and no strong winds or lightning.

The first climb up to Pen-y-crug was a challenge to those of us with muscles little used in lockdown, with wonderful views to compensate.

Hills were all around, with the highest peaks of South Wales clearly visible under the clouds.

Fields, some woodland and lanes gave us relatively easy terrain for walking. We enjoyed the advice to donkeys!

A dirt bike track in use looked like fun, if you enjoy getting totally muddy. Bluebells among ancient trees brightened our walk back down to the riverside.

We were pretty glad to get back to the cars tired enough but no doubt fitter.
Many thanks to Richard for leading this walk, and the link to the website where he found it:
