Remembrance walk 2021
Our Remembrance Day Walk was well attended, including a couple of non members who joined us for the service. As usual we laid our wreath at the memorial to the airmen whose plane crashed here. We couldn't attend as a group in 2020 but Richard went alone to lay a wreath.
Summer Walks in 2021
Over the summer months we walked in beautiful scenery and very varied weather!
A strenuous climb up to Fan Foel gave us a misty view of Llyn y Fan Fach but no sight of the bigger lake we knew was just below the crags. Who would have thought it was July?
Sunshine in the Cothi valley was much better, with the rich reds of rowan berries and butterflies. Some super walks were near Trap and Carreg Cennen, always a favourite area, especially with the prospect of afternoon tea at the Castle cafe.
Troserch Woods is a hidden delight, not far from Llanelli and then the wonderful cliffs of Gower. We didn't climb down to the caves where the "Red Lady of Paviland" was found - who turned out to be a young man painted in red ochre thousands of years ago.

Mynydd Myddfai 19 May 2021
Myddfai is one of our favourite walking areas, with the pretty village set in a lovely valley and hills giving us great views for only a little effort. On a day when the rain is pouring and winds howling outside, it's a pleasure to see these super photographs evoking such happy memories of what Spring can be like!
Brecon Pen-y-crug 16 May 2021
A small group braved the rain forecast to drive to Brecon for this 10 mile hilly walk - and it was well worth the distance! Yes, we did have rain and mud, but not as bad as some feared, and no strong winds or lightning.
The first climb up to Pen-y-crug was a challenge to those of us with muscles little used in lockdown, with wonderful views to compensate.
Henllys 12 May 2021
Another lovely walk from Llandovery took the group, led by Phil and including a couple of non-members, up the river valley to visit the charming 16th Century estate of Henllys.
A friendly welcome from the owners allowed refreshments on the lawn.
Carreg Cennen 2 May 2021
A beautiful sunny day welcomed us back to a favourite area around Carreg Cennen, Trap. This superb castle on a limestone crag dominates the valley, and the large car park and welcoming cafe are another attraction. On this occasion we had 2 small groups taking walks of different length and difficulty.
